Or Hadash began as a congregation in 1991 when local families decided there was a need for more than a Hebrew School in the community. On November 7, 1993 Or Hadash opened its doors and shortly afterwards the synagogue became a member of the Union for Reform Judaism(URJ).
As our membership continued to grow, we offered services in several different locations until we were able to secure our very own space on Leslie Street. 10 years later we were on the move again to accommodate our growing congregation. In July 2010, we secured our present location on Botsford Street in downtown historic Newmarket.
